MOVEMENT PSYCHOTHERAPY

Movement Psychotherapy (or DMP) is a way of working through emotional challenges and difficulties in a safe and supportive environment.

Client and therapist first build a trusting relationship, then as sessions progress work together using both movement and words to help link thoughts with feelings, bodily felt sensations and images. DMP can help with difficulties such as relationship problems, worries, depression, low confidence and help the client find and make meaning to their experiences.

Movement Psychotherapists undergo a professional training and are regulated by their professional body the Association of Dance Movement Psychotherapists www.admp.org.uk

Maternal Experiences offer both group and 1:1 sessions in DMP
